- A free Cohere account (sign up at cohere.com)
- Any web browser on your computer or phone
- A raw customer review (one paragraph or a few sentences is fine)
- About 5 minutes
Sign in to Cohere
Open your browser and go to cohere.com. Look for a button like Sign in or Log in in the top-right corner. Click it. You’ll see a login screen. If you already have an account, enter your email and password. If not, choose Sign up and follow the quick steps to create one. You’ll land on the Cohere dashboard.
You’ll know it worked when you see your name or email in the top-right corner and the dashboard loads.

Open the Rewrite tool
On the dashboard, look for a button like Playground or Tools in the menu. Click it. A list of tools appears. Find and click Rewrite. A new page opens with a big text box at the top and a Rewrite button below it.
You’ll know it worked when you see a clean text box and the word Rewrite on a button.

Paste the raw review
In the big text box, delete any placeholder text. Then paste the messy customer review you want to polish. It can be a few sentences or a whole paragraph. Don’t worry about formatting — just paste it as plain text.
You’ll know it worked when the messy text appears exactly as you pasted it in the box.

Choose the rewrite style
Below the text box, look for a dropdown or set of buttons that say things like Formal, Professional, or Customer testimonial. Click the one that best matches your goal. If you don’t see these, look for a slider or toggle that says Tone or Style. Move it toward Professional or Polished.
You’ll know it worked when the label or slider shows your chosen style.

Click Rewrite
With your messy review in the box and the style set, click the big Rewrite button. Cohere will process your text and show a cleaner version in the same box. It usually takes just a few seconds.
You’ll know it worked when the new, cleaner text appears in the box and the button changes back to Rewrite or shows Regenerate.

Review and copy
Read the rewritten text carefully. If it’s not quite right, click Regenerate to get another version. When you’re happy with it, highlight all the text and copy it using Edit > Copy or Ctrl+C (Windows) / Cmd+C (Mac).
You’ll know it worked when you can paste the clean text somewhere else without any formatting issues.

- Pasting the wrong text: Double-check you pasted the right review before rewriting. If you pasted the wrong one, just paste the correct one and try again.
- Choosing the wrong style: If the rewrite sounds too formal or too casual, change the tone slider or dropdown and click Rewrite again.
- Forgetting to copy: After rewriting, don’t close the tab until you’ve copied the text. If you close it by mistake, just go back to the Rewrite tool and regenerate.
Open cohere.com, sign in, go to Rewrite, paste a quick review, choose Customer testimonial, click Rewrite, and copy the result. You’ll have a polished testimonial in under two minutes.
