Turn a messy customer review into a polished testimonial with Cohere

Sign in to Cohere and open the chat

Go to cohere.com and click Sign In in the top-right corner. Enter your email and password, then press Enter. You’ll land on the Cohere dashboard. Look for a chat bubble or a box that says “Start a new chat” in the middle of the screen. Click it to open a fresh conversation.

You’ll see a blinking cursor and a prompt that says “Ask me anything…”

You'll know it worked when the chat window is open and you see the prompt ready for your input.

Paste the raw customer review

Copy the messy customer review from your email or notes. Then, in the chat box at the bottom, paste the text. Press Enter or click the send arrow.

For example, paste something like:

“I was really frustrated when my order arrived late, but the customer service team called me right away and fixed everything within a day. They even sent a discount code for my next purchase. I’m actually really happy with how they handled it and will definitely order again.”

You'll know it worked when the review appears in the chat, and Cohere starts typing a response.

Ask Cohere to polish the review into a testimonial

Below the pasted review, type your request in plain words. Keep it simple:

Press Enter. Cohere will process your request and generate a polished version.

You'll know it worked when you see a new message from Cohere with a clean, concise testimonial like:

“Our order arrived late, but the team responded quickly, resolved the issue within a day, and even sent a discount for our next purchase. We’re thrilled with the service and will definitely order again.”

Review and tweak the output

Read the polished testimonial carefully. If it’s perfect, great! If not, you can ask Cohere to adjust it. For example, you might want it shorter, warmer, or more specific.

Press Enter. Cohere will revise the testimonial based on your feedback.

You'll know it worked when you see a revised version that matches your tone and length preferences.

Copy the final testimonial

Once you’re happy with the polished review, highlight the entire text in the chat. Right-click and choose Copy, or use Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac).

Paste and share your testimonial

Open the platform where you want to share the testimonial — your website, LinkedIn, or a customer review page. Click in the text box, then paste the testimonial (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V). Add your company name and the customer’s name if appropriate. Click Post or Save.

You'll know it worked when the polished testimonial appears on the platform exactly as you intended.
