Go to Hugging Face’s summarizer demo
Open your browser and go to https://huggingface.co/spaces/facebook/bart-large-cnn. You’ll see a clean page with a large text box and a “Generate” button below it. This page is called a “Space” — it’s like a mini web app that runs the summarizer for you.
You’ll know it worked when the page loads and you see the big text box ready for you to paste your email.

Paste your email into the text box
Click inside the large text box. A blinking cursor will appear. Press Ctrl+V (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+V (Mac) to paste your email text. If you’re on a phone, long-press the box and choose “Paste.” The text will appear in the box, and the word count will update below it.
You’ll know it worked when you see your email text inside the box and the word count changes from “0 words” to the actual number of words in your email.
Hi team, The quarterly budget review meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday at 2pm in Conference Room B. Please bring your department’s updated forecasts and any questions about the new expense policy. If you can’t attend, let me know by Monday 5pm so we can reschedule. Thanks!

Click “Generate” to create the summary
Below the text box, look for a blue button labeled Generate. Click it once. The button will change to “Generating…” and a progress bar may appear. Wait a few seconds — the AI will read your email and write a shorter version.
You’ll know it worked when the button changes back to Generate and a new box appears below with your bullet-point list.

Read the bullet-point list in the output box
A new box will appear under the button. It will show your email rewritten as short bullet points. Each point is a key idea from the original email. If the list feels too long or too short, you can edit it directly in the box.
You’ll know it worked when you see a clean list of bullet points that capture the main ideas of your email.

Copy the bullet points to use anywhere
Click inside the output box. Press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+A then Cmd+C (Mac) to select all the text and copy it. If you’re on a phone, long-press the text and choose “Select all,” then “Copy.” Now you can paste the bullet points into a document, chat, or note-taking app.
You’ll know it worked when you can paste the bullet points into another app and they appear exactly as you copied them.

- Pasting too much text: The summarizer works best with emails under 1,000 words. If your email is longer, split it into two parts and summarize each separately.
- Not clicking Generate: The AI won’t start until you click the button. If nothing happens, double-check you clicked “Generate.”
- Editing the output too early: Wait until the bullet points appear before you edit them. If you edit while it’s still generating, your changes may be lost.
Open your browser, go to https://huggingface.co/spaces/facebook/bart-large-cnn, paste this short email, click “Generate,” and copy the bullet points into a note. You’ll have a clean list in under a minute.
