Turn a blurry photo into a crisp poster with NVIDIA AI Image Super‑Resolution in 5 minutes

Download and install NVIDIA ChatRTX

Open your web browser and go to https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/ai-data-science/chatrtx/. Look for a button like Download or Get ChatRTX in the centre of the page. Tap it to start the download. A small installer file (around 100 MB) will save to your Downloads folder. Double-click the file to run it. If you see a security prompt, click Run anyway. The installer will guide you through the setup in about 2 minutes. When it finishes, a shortcut called ChatRTX will appear on your desktop.

You'll know it worked when you see the ChatRTX icon on your desktop and the installer says “Installation successful.”

Open ChatRTX and sign in

Double-click the ChatRTX shortcut on your desktop. A window will open with a chat box in the centre. In the top-right corner, look for a button like Sign In or Log In. Tap it. A login screen will slide in from the right. Choose Sign up if you don’t have an account yet. Fill in your email and create a password. Check your email for a verification link and tap it to confirm your account. Back in ChatRTX, sign in with your new details. You’ll land on a clean chat screen with a welcome message.

Create a password: SafePass123!

You'll know it worked when you see your email address in the top-right corner and the chat box says “How can I help you today?”

Upload your blurry photo

In the chat box, type or paste:

A file-picker window will open. Navigate to where your blurry photo is saved. Select the file and tap Open. The photo will appear in the chat as a thumbnail. If you don’t see the /upload command, look for a paperclip icon or a button like Attach in the chat box instead.

You'll know it worked when you see your photo appear as a small preview below the chat box.

Ask the AI to upscale your photo

In the chat box, type:

Press Enter or tap the send arrow. The AI will start processing. A progress bar will appear under the photo. This usually takes 10–30 seconds, depending on your internet speed and the photo size. If the progress bar stalls, refresh the page and try again—sometimes the servers are busy.

You'll know it worked when the progress bar disappears and you see a new, sharper version of your photo appear below the original.

Download the crisp new image

Look at the new, sharper photo in the chat. In the bottom-right corner of the image, find a small download icon (usually an arrow pointing down). Tap it. A menu will pop up asking where to save the file. Choose your Pictures folder or Desktop and tap Save. The file will download as a new JPEG with “_upscaled” added to the name. If you don’t see the download icon, right-click the image and choose Save image as… instead.

You'll know it worked when you see the new file in your chosen folder and it opens clearly on your screen.

Print or share your poster-ready image

Open the new file from your Pictures folder. Right-click the image and choose Print. In the print window, select your printer and choose Poster or A3 size if you want a large print. Adjust the margins so the image fills the page. Tap Print. If you want to share it online, right-click the file and choose Send to > Mail recipient or upload it to your favourite social app.

You'll know it worked when you hold a crisp, clear printout or see the sharp image online without any blur.
