Generate a quick FAQ page for a small business website using Perplexity

Open Perplexity and start a new chat

Open your web browser and go to perplexity.ai. If you’re already signed in, you’ll see the main search bar in the centre of the page. Click inside the search bar to start a new chat. A blinking cursor will appear, ready for your first instruction. If you see a “Welcome back” message instead, click “New chat” or the plus icon (+) in the top-left corner to clear the previous conversation. You’ll know it worked when you see a fresh chat window with a blinking cursor and the words “Ask anything…” at the top.

Give Perplexity your first instruction

In the chat box, type or paste the exact instruction below and press Enter. This tells Perplexity what you want it to do.

After you press Enter, Perplexity will start gathering information and drafting answers. You’ll see a spinning icon or the words “Thinking…” appear while it works. If the chat box looks different on your screen (for example, you see a microphone icon instead), look for a text box with a Send arrow or a paper-plane icon. You’ll know it worked when the chat shows a draft answer beginning with “# GreenShine Cleaners – FAQ”.

Review the draft and ask for improvements

Read the draft Perplexity produced. If any answer feels too long, too short, or off-brand, type a follow-up message asking for a tweak. Use plain language so Perplexity understands your request.

After you send the follow-up, Perplexity will revise that section and show the updated text. If Perplexity ignores your request, try rephrasing it in simpler words or add “please” at the end. You’ll know it worked when you see the revised sentence appear in the chat, matching the tone you asked for.

Ask Perplexity to organise the answers into a ready-to-paste format

Once you’re happy with the content, ask Perplexity to format the FAQ as a clean, numbered list with clear headings. This makes copying and pasting much easier.

Perplexity will replace the draft with a neatly formatted list. You’ll see numbered items like “1. What cleaning products do you use?” followed by the answer. If the formatting looks messy, tell Perplexity “Please format this as plain Markdown with bold headings” and it will try again. You’ll know it worked when the chat shows a clean list with bold questions and short answers, ready to copy.

Copy the FAQ text and paste it into your website

Highlight the entire FAQ list in the chat. Right-click and choose Copy, or use Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac). Then open your website editor or content management system (like WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace) and paste the text where you want the FAQ to appear. Most editors let you paste directly from the clipboard.

After pasting, preview the page to make sure the formatting looks correct. Headings should be bold, questions should stand out, and answers should be easy to read. If the pasted text loses its formatting, look for a “Paste as plain text” or “Remove formatting” option in your editor and try again. You’ll know it worked when the FAQ appears neatly on your site, with bold questions and clear spacing between each item.

Add your business details and finalise

At the top of the FAQ, add your business name and a short introduction sentence. At the bottom, include a call-to-action like “Have more questions? Contact us at [email protected] or call 04XX XXX XXX.” This gives customers a clear next step.
